Yard Sale, Exhibits and Anniversary Approaches Museum of Northern California – Oroville Mercury-Register
CHICO — Outside the margins of the Museum of Northern California Art, tables spread out with kitchen utensils, artwork, furniture, and more were wanted by anyone at a price they could choose. During the museum’s sale of yART on Saturday, browsers could choose any item and pay a donation amount they chose to set.
“We asked for donations from our community and were overwhelmed with supplies,” said general manager Pat Macias. “Last night we had Stonewall Alliance at an event here and they helped us put it all out there and at 7am this morning we got it all out. So it’s been a really good effort between a lot of people.
The fundraiser, in its third year, has seen the museum raise approximately $5,000 each time, helping the institution support local artists.
“At the end, we donate what we have left over to the Arc Thrift Store or the Discovery Shoppe,” Macias said.
The event lasted until 4 p.m.

Sunday will mark the end of the presentation of works by David Sisk, a Chico artist who died of a heart attack in 2021. The exhibition, which opened in April, featured sculptures, paintings and 3D pieces of a father family that bounces from spiritual, playful or political styles.
