(From Haley to Sale #54, 4222 SW Hill)
As at the right time, the sun appeared a few minutes before the official start of West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day at 9 a.m. Forecasters – and radars – say the morning showers have mostly passed. Some sellers are undercover anyway, like Elise to Sale #3055643 47th Ave SW:
This is meant to help Elise’s parents downsize: “Please, please, please come buy their…stuff.” We add more photos ([email protected]) and we also have a team visiting some sales for Instagram Stories which you will find on @westseattleblog.
9:23 a.m.: The first selloff we tried to stop at was just coming together – which is understandable since the weather took a while to dry out. (What @WestSeaWX says is indeed what is happening.) But most are operational – here’s a pic Christina sent from Sale #30 at 2311 SW Myrtle:
Their sale promises a wide variety of clothing and accessories as well as an electric chainsaw.
10 a.m.: California/Genesee’s annual antiques and collectables bonanza is Sale #75 This year:
The leader here is a local entrepreneur John Bennett:

10:44 a.m.: More sun! And a sales photo, this time of Colleen to Sale #654403 45th SW, with items including antique furniture:
We stopped at the arts/crafts sale in C&P Coffee Company (5612 California SW; WSB sponsor), Sale #252 on the WSCGSD chart – until 2 p.m. Discover the wooden items:
(added) Also selling art there, media artist Kristi Scocco:
11:17 am: Sale #255 (corner of Allée de Juneau and 41e) is one of today’s advantages, with the proceeds of the Kitsap Humane Society – go say hello to jessica and Verne:
Another fundraising sale – the sale of plants to Solstice Park Patch P (7500 Fauntleroy Way SW) east Sale #303 On the map. Brandy sent the photo and said, “Great crowd and great variety for sale this morning. Wonderful gardening tips aplenty too. What a pleasure to see our neighbors again.
11:47: Another of today’s places of business, Thunder Road Guitars/The Bass Shop, #253 on the map, at 6400 California (WSB sponsors), hosts the annual Garage Sale Day sale:
One of the benefit stops on the map – Sale #221 at 7350 31st SW offers homemade bamboo art kits, with all proceeds going to girls’ education in Honduras:
They are created by chavain our photo with mom Shoshanna and brother Lev:
Chava teaches some of the girls online and raises scholarships for them via Esperanzas Unidas.
Further north on the 31st, Reginait is Sale #231 at 5623 31st SW offers many “soft use” kitchen utensils, presented in a creative way:
And while we’re on the 31st, yet another picture comes in, of Lindsay to Sale #184, 7135 31st SW – kids stuff, shelves, some tools. Lindsay reports, “We’ve had good traffic so far!”
12:30 p.m.: Even more sun! In The Junction, you’ll find a WSCGSD sale at longtime WSB sponsor Click on! Design that adapts (4540 California SW, #108 on the map), a loft sale continuing until 6 p.m.:
12:45 p.m.: We just visited the beet coffee/Youngstown Cafe site, Sale #291 at 6030 California SW – eclectic offerings, including restaurant amenities, then this collectible from over half a century ago:
The next photo is from Eden to Sale #287 (5212 44th SW), which notes “kids’ stilts” and a drone!

To Sale #261 (4300 SW Willow), the “pop-up store Morgan Block”, Megane reported “things are moving”:
