Thomasville Sip and Shop event keeps community coming back for more

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) – For the city of Thomasville, it’s that time of year again. The first Sip and Shop event took place on March 4.

City officials said it was an event the community looks forward to every year.

“It’s great. It’s great for our economic status here in town. It’s so much fun. The restaurants are open, the shops are open and we have great musical entertainment,” said Margaret Harvey, a resident of Thomasville.

The Sip and Shop has been around for five years and people keep coming back year after year.

This event had extended hours for people to drink and dine and there was a concert around 8pm Friday night by local artists.

Jen Lester has left Thomasville but she continues to return for the event.

“We enjoy live music at the Amphitheater. And just being able to walk around and the weather. It’s absolutely beautiful out there today,” said Lester.

Her friend Margaret Harvey teaches in Thomasville and said people should go explore different businesses as soon as they come to the event.

“You definitely have to go to Farmer’s Daughter, they have great wine. Sass! (The Sweet and Savory Sisters) is an awesome restaurant. You can sit outside, the Chophouse, they’re all awesome,” Harvey said.
