The Coachella 2022 YouTube Live Stream Experience will allow viewers to shop during the event
Youtube again takes center stage for its 10th year of Coachella 2022 live streaming this week!
The platform has long been known for hosting concerts and other live events to attract viewers and advertising dollars. This year, YouTube promises “a totally immersive experience like never before”.
What will this mean for those who love the hugely popular festival?
Well, one example of a “fully immersive experience” this year will see live-at-home viewers being able to shop during the livestream event.
How exactly will purchases during a streaming event work?
If you can’t wait to see a roster of headliners like The Weeknd with Swedish House Mafia, Lil Baby, Big Sean, Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion fronting a show in the desert this year, viewers will be able to buy something to remember them – their merchandise.
According to The Los Angeles Timeswhen a performer takes the stage at Coachella, audiences streaming the festival from home on YouTube will be able to purchase a commemorative t-shirt during the live performance.
Viewers will be able to click a link on their phone or scan the QR code on their TV screen to purchase an artist’s merchandise through the Coachella store without leaving the live streamed concert on YouTube.
The move will be YouTube’s first merchandise sale during its Coachella livestream and is expected to expand its presence in online shopping to attract more people to its live events. Los Angeles Time reported.
From April 15 to April 17, as well as April 22 and 24, the live stream is expected to offer live performances from three different live streams.
In addition to the previously mentioned purchase option, viewers will have access to more benefits such as intimate artist interviews, behind-the-scenes YouTube shorts and premium YouTube pre-parties, hypebeast reported.
