Southborough Gardeners have announced they will not be holding their sale until Mother’s Day this year.
(You can still buy gifts at the Community House the day before Mother’s Day – but not plants. And you can buy plants at the Community House – but not before Mother’s Day.)
To celebrate ’50 years of flowering’,* the gardeners will hold a special flower show and plant sale later this spring
Save the date for Saturday, May 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The exhibition and sale will take place at the Community House, 28 Main Street.
The gardeners will sell “a fine selection of locally grown perennials and annuals”. But the main attraction is “A feast for the eyes with over 30 arrangements” made by club members.
Special arrangements will be raffled off to attendees at the end of the event.
I can’t wait to see the arrangements proposed by the gardeners. Over the years, special Art in Bloom and Books in Bloom exhibitions have showcased the creativity of members. Members also took turns contributing lovely arrangements to brighten up the library.
* 1972 was apparently a busy year for civic-minded area residents. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the Northborough and Westborough Community Choirs, as well as the Friends of the Southborough Library.
