On Wednesday afternoon, Sedalia Police responded to a reported act of vandalism in the 500 block of North Osage Avenue. Pamela K. Ehlers and Gavin Minddan Ray Galloway each reported that their vehicles’ tires were punctured overnight.
Officers on patrol observed a vehicle moving at high speed Wednesday evening. Radar indicated that the vehicle was traveling at 63 miles per hour in a 40 miles per hour zone. Officers conducted a roadside check on the vehicle and identified the driver. After passing the driver’s information to Dispatch, he was told the driver had four arrest warrants for failure to appear. Arlando Donnell Staten, 49, of Kansas City, was arrested on warrant. The Pettis County default to appear warrant was on the original charges of financial failure with a cash bond or $ 1,500 bond. The arrest warrants for Chariton County, Caroll County and Chilicothe PD for failure to appear were all on initial charges of speeding, with the cash-only obligations totaling $ 600. Staten was transported to Pettis County Jail, where he was listed on the warrants.
Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Moniteau Avenue on Wednesday evening with a report of a dog bite. Both parties were questioned about the dog bite and a report was made to document the incident.
Sedalia Police responded to block 100 of East Morgan Street with a home invasion report. Upon arrival, Stephanie Buckner said her landlord entered her residence without any announcements. Buckner wanted to pursue a trespassing charge. A charge is laid before the Pettis County District Attorney.
On the evening of September 16, members of the Crime Resolution Unit struck and spoke in the 400 block of East Harvey Street regarding criminal activity. During contact at the residence, one person was contacted and found to have an active Pettis County warrant of non-appearance on initial charges of operating a motor vehicle on the highway while on suspension with a $ 300 cash deposit only. John William Bryant, 48, from Sedalia, was arrested and transported to Pettis County Jail for treatment. Another subject was also found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Tammy Jo DeSpain, 50, of Sedalia was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Monday afternoon, officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Clinton Road and Driftwood Drive for a permit violation. There was a large amount of methamphetamine and other items indicating drug sales in the vehicle. Kenneth Thomas Yoakum, 53, of Kansas City, and Jeannie Marie Davidson, 46, of Centertown, were arrested. Yoakum and Davidson have both been held on bond TBD for first degree drug trafficking, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sedalia Police contacted a subject in a vehicle after seeing him driving on the roadway near West Main Street and Winchester Drive with an expired registration Tuesday afternoon. A check via Dispatch showed that the driver’s license status had been revoked from Missouri. Jordan S. Mosley, 20, of Sedalia, was arrested, taken to the police department and issued a driving ticket with revocation.
