Rare and out of print titles on sale at a charity book sale

ART and the Channel Islands will take center stage at a special book sale to raise funds for the Jersey branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind on Saturday.

The organization, now known locally for its book sales, will hold a unique event at St Ouen Parish Hall specializing in local books and a range of art-related titles.

There will be a number of rare titles on sale, as well as many books that are now out of print.

Titles on offer include illustrated books by Edmund Blampied, copies of Jersey Houses by Joan Stevens, A People of the Sea edited by AG Jamieson, Les Ecréhous by Warwick Rodwell and The Fief of Sark by AH Ewen and Allan de Carteret.

Ken Syvret, chairman of Guide Dogs for the Blind in Jersey, said: ‘There is always great interest in books with content from the Channel Islands or local authors and this special one-time sale will allow people to browse all what we have in this category. The Parish Hall book sale will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a cup of coffee or tea and cookies will be offered to everyone as a little thank you for the support we have received over the past 27 years of selling books. books. .’

There will also be a selection of children’s books priced at 25p each.
