Napa Valley Wine Estate Seven Stones Winery on sale for $34 million – Robb Report

Now that’s something to sip.

Seven Stones Wine Estate, the smallest licensed winery in Napa Valley, has officially hit the market for $34 million. Currently owned by the Wornick family, who planted their first vines on the property in the 1990s, they are selling in the hope that another family will carry on the legacy of this incredible estate. The 45 acre property is located behind the prestigious gates of Meadowood near the Meadowood Napa Valley resort and features three acres of vineyards, a fully operational winery, a 6,600 square foot primary residence and unrivaled outdoor amenities.

The property is located in Saint Helena.

Acclaimed winemaker Aaron Pott has been the winemaker at Seven Stones for years and will still be the winemaker when ownership changes hands. The award-winning Seven Stones is revered among oenophiles for its full-bodied red wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Due to the small-batch nature of the winery — the vineyard only produces 500 cases a year — the label has also become a cult favorite among wine collectors, with bottles ranging from $148 to $625. The three-acre vineyard has organically grown vines, and while Pott’s goal is for the winery to remain small, the winery is in the process of getting approval to double the size of the vineyard.

The property is equipped for the new owner to seamlessly take over, and Pott’s established team of wine and vineyard manager, gardeners and estate managers will remain on board.

“Seven Stones is truly a rare property and almost impossible to replicate at this price because there are no fully licensed vineyards for sale in Napa Valley that come close to the vast and beautiful private estate that encompasses the property,” says the agent list Damien Archbold. “This elite winery is already poised to achieve ‘cult wine’ status with its limited-release Cabernet-focused ‘Bordeaux’ blend, similar in awards to Colgen, Harlan and Screaming Eagle.”

But it’s not just the cellar that’s impressive; there is a main residence designed by architect William Ming Sing Lee, an associate of the legendary IM Pei. The sprawling home features three bedrooms, a triple-height living room, three-dimensional art wing, chef’s kitchen, and two private offices. Amenities aren’t forgotten, and there’s an impressive fitness room, an entertainment room with a bar, a charming den, and a 1,000-bottle wine cellar, if the cellar itself isn’t enough. The current owners have quite an extensive art collection, and although their pieces are promised to museums around the world, this is the perfect home for an art collector to showcase their collection.

Outside there is a swimming pool, pool/guest house, barn and workshop space. There are also raised vegetable gardens, an orchard, a grove of 50 olive trees, a garden pavilion, a sculpture collection and a pétanque court. The views are equally fantastic and stretch up and down the valley to the Mayacamas mountains and the Atlas peak. This St Helena based home is perfect for a large family as a primary or second home, close to many hiking trails, Michelin star restaurants and San Francisco not too far away.

“This private, hilltop enclave within the confines of Meadowood is the perfect place to pursue that lofty goal when combined with the timeless architecture of the estate’s 45 sculpted acres overlooking the Napa Valley,” said Archbold. Robb Report. “The opportunity to purchase Seven Stones is very rare as applying for a fully operational winery license on an equally magnificent estate and then gaining the stature already held by Seven Stones would take 10-20 years, if it could be achieved at all. ”
