Local accounting firm Mengel Metzger Barr & Co. announces three new hires

Mengel Metzger Barr & Co. LLP, a local accounting firm offering a variety of financial services, is pleased to announce three new hires. Samantha Lautner and Christina Poles were hired as accountants in the Rochester office and Claire Russell was hired as an accountant in the Canandaigua office. In their new positions, Lautner, Poles and Russell will be responsible for assisting with assurance engagements, including inventory testing and preparation of financial statements, in addition to organizing and preparing tax returns.

Lautner attended Monroe Community College and SUNY Brockport, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a bachelor’s degree in finance. Lautner resides in Greece, New York.

Poles joins Mengel Metzger Barr & Co. after most recently working at Zweigle as a junior accountant/cost accountant/data analyst. She previously worked at Monro Muffler in Accounts Receivable. Poles earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from SUNY Brockport and an associate’s degree from Monroe Community College in liberal arts/sciences. She resides in Rochester with her family.

Russell assumes a full-time role at Mengel Metzger Barr & Co. after completing two busy internships during tax season with the firm. The Canandaigua resident earned an AS in Business Administration from Monroe Community College and a BS in Accounting from SUNY Geneseo. Russell resides in Canandaigua.
