BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Tickets are on sale for the Louisiana Art and Science Museum (LASM) 60th Anniversary Gala: Diamonds of History. The prize in this year’s draw is a pair of diamond earrings worth over $12,000.

LASM’s 60th Anniversary Gala: Diamonds of History celebrates sixty years of service to the museum in Baton Rouge. The gala also celebrates the opening of the Diamonds of History: “Mighty Women” exhibit by New Orleans-based music artist Ashley Longshore. The gala is co-chaired by Adrienne Connelly Adams, Chelsea Norris and Lexie Polito.

“I am thrilled to co-chair and promote a gala as exuberant and daring as Ashley’s works alongside my fellow gala chairs Adrienne Adams and Chelsea Norris and the LASM team,” Polito said. “Fun, Instagram-friendly moments at the event will serve as catalysts to raise funds and awareness for the important history of the museum and its role in shaping our next generation of artists and scientists.”

Extravagant gems will be on display at the gala. A raffle for a pair of 18-karat white gold double-pave diamond earrings, which the museum says are worth $12,500 and donated by Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry, can be won at of the gala.

LASM President and Executive Director Serena Pandos said proceeds will go towards renovating LASM’s science station into The Seed. The Seed is an interactive space for children to get hands-on experience in science, technology, engineering, art and math.

“This will be the first of four phases to renovate our child-friendly spaces by 2025, the 100th anniversary of our building’s construction,” Pandos said.

The gala is scheduled for Friday, September 30 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the museum. Entry and raffle tickets can be purchased here.
