Jobs up for grabs as double glazing firm Ayrshire increases its workforce

An Ayrshire double glazing company is expanding its workforce with up to 28 new jobs up for grabs.

Andrew Wright Windows is looking for carpenters, window fitters, administrative employees, a home facilities manager and production operators at its two specialty production facilities in Irvine.

The work will be staggered over the next two to three months. The recruiting drive follows a series of successful commercial contracts with leading homebuilders and growing demands from domestic customers.

Alongside the expansion of its workforce, the company has also recently made investments approaching £1 million in state-of-the-art production equipment and new vehicles.

Charlie Berry, Managing Director, said: “We are experiencing a significant increase in household inquiries which, alongside growing success on the business front, has driven this staff growth to its highest level ever.

“We have a fantastic team here at Andrew Wright Windows, it’s a great place to work and we look forward to welcoming new colleagues on board.”

Founded in 1937, Andrew Wright Windows is one of the oldest window manufacturing companies in the UK and one of Irvine’s largest private employers, currently providing work for around 100 people.

The company manufactures double and triple glazed UPVC windows, with a current annual production capacity of 30,000 units. Clients are spread across commercial, commercial, national and local sectors.

It has remained family-owned for most of its 85-year history and was acquired by current owners, the Berry family, in the mid-1990s.
