For Cold Brew, HardTank Dispenser Launched on Strong Foundation Daily Coffee News by Roast Magazine
Polish commercial cold brew equipment brand HardTank has unveiled the HardTank Dispenser, a countertop faucet system designed to connect directly to the company’s Baby HardTank cold brew machine.
The new dispensing system, which just won the SCA Best New Product award at the World of Coffee 2022 event in Milan, Italy, acts as a container, cooler and dispenser that draws ready-to-drink coffee from the infuser through sealed tubes without oxidation. . Its capacity of 4 liters corresponds to that of the maximum batch size of the Baby HardTank.
The machine can dispense still and nitro coffee simultaneously through its two taps, while the connection allows users to simultaneously clean the dispenser and brewer with a single shot of cleaning chemicals in an automated routine.
Krzysztof Barabosz, CPO and Head of Coffee for HardTank’s parent company Hard Beans Coffee Roasters, told Daily Coffee News that the dispenser’s functionality isn’t limited to its connection to the Baby HardTank either.
“[Baby HardTank] is the primary brewer used with the Hardtank dispenser, but the machine also works with other brewers,” Barabosz told Daily Coffee News. “You can transfer the drink from a keg or manually pour it into the tank from above. You can use it with coffee, tea and spirits.
Connectivity within the HardTank dispenser extends beyond the physical with built-in Wi-Fi and a smartphone app. Through the app, which is still in development, users can check and adjust storage/dispense temperature, designate which faucet dispenses flat or nitro coffee, check remaining beverage volume, and set an automated dispense dose based on time.
Hard Beans Coffee Roasters was launched in 2017 as an in-house roaster of Kofeina Art Cafe in Opole, Poland. Its original HardTank brewer was a square machine, roughly the size of a dishwasher, used to brew approximately 20 liters of cold brew at a time that can be dispensed via a tap mounted on its top surface.
The Baby HardTank, which won the SCA Best New Product of 2021 award, is two feet tall more suitable for the counter with a wooden exterior casing. The machine also provides an engaging visual display of the brewing process.
Hard Beans uses an 800 liter HardTank brewer for the production of its canned nitro RTD coffees in Opole. Barabosz told the Daily Coffee News that by the end of the year they hope to build a 2,000 liter HardTank production brewer.
Currently, the company has partnered with Illinois-based batch brewer manufacturer Fetco to expand the distribution of Baby HardTank Brewer and HardTank Distributor in the United States.
The distributor’s expected retail price is approximately €5,000 ($5,240.87 at the time of this writing).
