Denbigh company LIMB-art creates the Mr Urdd prosthetic leg cover

MR URDD is everywhere you look in Denbigh this week – even as cover for prosthetic legs.

Denbighshire-based LIMB-art has created a prosthetic leg to celebrate 100 years of the youth organization which is holding its eisteddfod on the outskirts of town this week.

The design, featuring Urdd’s mascot, was created by Sean Mason and Mark Williams, who founded LIMB-art which specializes in creating artistic and colorful designs to cover prosthetic limbs.

Mark said: “I’ve always loved Mr Urdd.

“As a business based near Denbigh, we overlook the Mr Urdd sign on the mountain and our entire team are fluent in Welsh.

“We couldn’t let (the) 100th anniversary pass without doing a tribute leg cover, which we’ve been working on for a few months.”

LIMB-art was founded in 2018 by former swimmer and Paralympic medalist Mark Williams and his wife Rachael.

It was born from an irresistible desire to help other prosthetic users to gain confidence, to be proud of what they have and very simply, but above all to have fun while doing it!

On his history with the Urdd Eisteddfod, Mark added: “I did gwerin dawnsio at Ysgol Dewi Sant when I was around eight years old.

“We reached the semi-finals in Maesteg!”
