CCIC opens “Boutique Lota” showcasing crafts and traditional forms of craftsmanship

New Delhi, June 15 (KNN) Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd (CCIC), popularly known as Central Cottage Industries Emporium, has opened “Lota Shop”, a new outlet at the Crafts Museum in New Delhi.

It showcases quality trinkets, souvenirs, handicrafts and handcrafted textiles based on the traditional craft forms of India.

Minister of State (MoS) for Textiles, Darshana Jardosh, opened the shop on Tuesday.

Reiterating the importance of museums, she said they hold enormous potential to attract tourists and foreign buyers.

Emphasizing the One Nation One Product per Center initiative, she said it will give impetus to the handicraft sector as well as artisans.

The Minister urged not to bargain with artisans for their art and said it was an invaluable gift to the country.

Present at the inauguration, UP Singh, Secretary for Textiles, spoke about the facilities provided by the museum and said that in the future he expects encouraging attendance.

He said the museum provides accommodation facilities and also has audio-visual facilities for visitors. The Ministry also plans to further strengthen the Museum’s infrastructure. (KNN Office)
