Car crashes into Florida antique store

Janet Guthart was hard at work on a typical Friday at the Bruce Kodner Galleries until the unthinkable happened. “I heard a big explosion and I looked up and it was like snow, it was like snow,” she said. But it wasn’t snow, it was shards of glass raining down all around her, covering the showroom. “I heard speeding, and I ran around and there’s a car in the mall,” she explained, realizing she was looking at a car in the middle of the room. And I thought she was under the car,” Guthart said, referring to a dealer in art featuring his work pinned under an antique grandfather clock. Colleague Liz Oxnard says she sprang into action to help free an injured client trapped under the debris. “If I was still there, the car would have run over me… someone could have been killed,” she said. The driver of the car was not injured. It remains unclear what prompted the driver to enter the store and whether any charges will be laid.
