2022 United States Mint American Eagle Gold Proof Coins on sale March 17

Available in five product options – one ounce, half ounce, quarter ounce, tenth ounce and the four piece set.

WASHINGTON, March 11, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — The United States Mint (Mint) is pleased to announce the sale of the 2022 American Eagle Gold Proof Coins beginning on the 17th of March at noon EDT. Orders are limited to one piece per household for the first 24 hours from the on-sale date and time.

Minted in 22 karat gold at the West Point Mint, these popular coins are collector’s versions of the official United States Mint American Eagle Gold Bullion coins. In 2021, for the first time since their introduction more than three decades prior, the reverse (tails) of American Eagle Gold Proof Coins debuted a new depiction of an eagle, created by the designer of the infusion program artist by United States Mint Jennie Norris and sculpted by United States Mint Medal Artist Renata Gordon. The entries are “THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “IN GOD WE TRUST”, as well as the face value and weight.

Characteristics of the obverse (heads) of the coins Auguste Saint Gaudens’ full-length figure of Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. To better reflect Saint-Gaudens’ original vision, details inherited from the obverse design were also restored in 2021, including changes to the US Capitol building, stars, torch, sunbeams and other design elements based on the original bronze cast. .

The 2022 American Eagle Proof Gold Coins will be available in the following five product options:
